Sooooo What do we do at Stanley Brae Riding School???
Your very first visit to the riding school you will need to book a private or assessment lesson (same thing). On our ecpro online booking system (address in attached pic) This is a 30min 1-1 lesson where we can look at the type of lesson we think you will benefit from, which of our horses we think would be suitable for you, and discuss activities we think you will enjoy at the current standard you are.

Following your initial lesson we will grade you on our booking system, this then means that when you make future bookings you will have the option to continue with private 1-1 30min, semi privates for family members 30min or a group lesson for 60min. Group lessons have a maximum of 6 in a group in the summer months, 4 in the winter months. You will be riding in groups with other riders of your grade and similar level. This enables us to ensure maximum productivity and learning for the riders and keeps the horses interested and listening. We have lessons for groups and private/semi running 7 days per week.
We take riders from 4yrs and older to adults.
We have a weight limit of 13.5 stone (we may weigh you from time to time) this is to enable us to keep within horse welfare regulations.
🐎 HACKS 🐎
you must have been graded to attend a hack, these are mainly run during the day through the week and in the holidays. Please ask for further details.

You use our horses at Stanley Brae Crookgate Stables to join in Pony Club activities at Crookgate Stables. Or if you prefer to bring your own horse you can.
We have regular sessions running every week working towards progressive tests & achievment badges as well as activities and demonstrations, rallies and camp, progressing to team activities throughout the year at our centre!
Junior sessions for 4-11yr olds on:-
Fridays - 5-6pm Care session £5
Fridays - 6-7pm Ride sessions £25
Sundays - 12-1pm Ride sessions £25

Once you join as a member on the above link then you can book into sessions on our ecpro online booking as usual, you do not need to come to every session but we do work towards achievment badges in the care with a different topic every month. So ideally at least a couple of sessions should be attended every month to enable you to learn the syllabus etc.

🧹STABLE MANAGEMENT🧹
We offer the chance to come and help the helpers on the yard as they go about the daily jobs that need doing on the yard. This could involve anything from field maintenance, mucking out, grooming, tacking up, yard maintenance! Anything that needs doing at the time. These sessions are on:-

😇CHANGING LIVES THROUGH HORSES😇

The programme has been developed by Britain’s largest Equine charity, The British Horse Society, and is called Changing Lives Through Horses. The British Horse Society Changing Lives Through Horses is an alternative education programme where children and young people can learn in a safe and nurturing environment alongside highly trained coaches at British Horse Society Approved Riding Centres. The BHS believes that horses and equine facilitated learning can have a remarkable role to play in impacting on a young person’s life. The programme is aimed at children and young people aged 5-25 years who have become, or are at risk of becoming, disengaged or excluded from education or training, or those with additional needs that mean they need more support to maintain their school placement. Participants who have benefitted from the programme include those with special educational needs, including social and emotional mental health needs, and those who may have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.

🎂PONY PARTIES🎂
We offer to entertain those attending for 2hrs with a combination of riding, games, grooming etc and then you have use of the heated classroom and kitchen facilities if you would like to put on a party tea, cake etc! £250 for 10 attending plus £10pp for any additional coming along.
💃DISCO DRESSAGE🕺
We are a disco dressage venue of which there is only a couple in the UK. This is great fun with groups of up to 8 learning a dressage routine together that we put to themed music. Any ability from age 4-99yr are welcome to attend. It’s a great way to learn dressage whilst having amazing fun!
🐴PONY DAYS🐴
(usually in the holidays) 9-3pm £55 includes 2hrs of riding, games, arts & crafts, stable management. Just drop them off with suntan cream, warm clothing & waterproofs. A big pack lunch, snacks and drinks and collect them at 3pm tired and full of skills and memories made with new and old friends.

We have a strict NO REFUND policy in place, so please when booking in advance ensure your rider will be wanting to continue as if they decide to stop riding your advanced payments WILL NOT be refunded. Sessions booked can be cancelled and if within the cancellation time will go back onto your ecpro account and will stay on there until you use them in the future. They will not under any circumstances be returned to you by any other means.
