FIRST VISIT
Your very first visit to the riding school you will need to book a private or assessment lesson (same thing). This is a 30min 1-1 lesson where we can look at the type of lesson we think you will benefit from, which of our horses we think would be suitable for you, and discuss activities we think you will enjoy at the current standard you are.
Following your initial lesson we will grade you on our booking system, this then means that when you make future bookings you will have the option to continue with private 1-1 30min, semi privates for family members 30min or a group lesson for 60min. Group lessons have a maximum of 6 in a group in the summer months, 4 in the winter months. You will be riding in groups with other riders of your grade and similar level. This enables us to ensure maximum productivity and learning for the riders and keeps the horses interested and listening. We have lessons for groups and private/semi running 7 days per week.
We take riders from 4yrs and older to adults.
We have a weight limit of 13.5 stone (we may weigh you from time to time) this is to enable us to keep within horse welfare regulations.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We have a strict cancellation policy as detailed on the booking app. Cancellations need to be done by yourselves on your app, we cannot do this for you. If you are entitled to a refund as per the cancellation policy the funds go back onto your ecpro account for you to reuse. (Not refunded to your bank account)
We do not make refunds of cash or bank transfers under any circumstances, your refund if entitled goes back onto your ecpro account to use.
BOOKING SYSTEM AND RIDING SCHOOL
The ecpro system allocates your horse, we do not so cannot take special requests. The system is extremely clever and shares the horse workload out based on abilities, heights, weights, and medical conditions for horse and rider. We cannot change these as they are then submitted to the council for welfare regulations.
Riders and instructor are fitted with one way headsets to ensure that the riders can hear clear instructions throughout the lesson, to keep them as safe as possible (if they act upon the instruction given of course 🤣).
We are an educational riding school to teach you to ride, and move up the levels when ready to do so on good quality riding school horses. We have approx 19 horses on licence to ride, ranging from 4yr to golden oldies in their 20’s. From Lead rein, first ponies, ex competition horses up to 1.60m retired showjumpers and everything in between.
The horses that are used for more advanced lessons and BHS Exam training compete on a regular basis with Emily & Annie in a variety of disciplines, Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing & Pleasure rides. We feel it is important to continuously develop their skills which they can bring back to help their riders progress.
Instruction is carried out by Emily & Kellie Davidson both accredited by the British Horse Society & Pony Club. Should any guest coaches come for the day they will be at least the same qualification to ensure you are always in good hands!
HACKS you must have been graded to attend a hack, these are mainly run during the day through the week and in the holidays. Please ask for further info.

PAYING FOR LESSONS IN ADVANCE!
We have a strict NO REFUND policy in place, so please when booking in advance ensure your rider will be wanting to continue as if they decide to stop riding your advanced payments WILL NOT be refunded. Sessions booked can be cancelled and if within the cancellation time will go back onto your ecpro account and will stay on there until you use them in the future.They will not under any circumstances be returned to you by any other means.
